re-engineered for improved performance
When we first engineered our under-bonnet air conditioning system for the DB models, we identified that original air intake and outlet restrictions could limit cooling efficiency — particularly in warmer climates.
Our solution was to create a more effective system designed around recirculated cabin air, optimising airflow and improving overall cooling performance. The result is a completely redesigned evaporator system, mounted within a purpose-built radio tower, carefully crafted to appear as close to original as possible while delivering significantly enhanced functionality.
Discreet intergration, tailored to you
Owners can choose from a range of air outlet vent positions to suit personal preferences and interior layouts. For those wishing to retain a factory-correct aesthetic, we offer an optional original-style radio façade, cleverly engineered to operate the entire air conditioning system while maintaining a period appearance.
Under the bonnet, every detail has been carefully considered:
• Custom compressor brackets engineered to integrate seamlessly with existing power steering and engine bay configurations
• High-performance condenser with uprated cooling fan
• Discreet refrigerant pipework designed for efficiency and subtle integration
The result is a system that looks as though it could have been installed at the factory — yet performs to modern standards.

The system can be professionally installed at our Coventry workshop or supplied as a complete kit for fitting by experienced enthusiasts or specialist restorers.
Importantly, every Clayton Classics system is fully reversible. All components can be removed without leaving permanent alterations, preserving the integrity and heritage of the vehicle. Though once experienced, modern comfort quickly becomes indispensable.
