Porsche 993 Targa Tiptronic 'S'
285 BHP Varioram First registered April 1997 in Hong Kong
C15 spec, which is similar to C16 (UK) – RHD, but adds A/C, bridge spoiler and multi way ‘comfort’ electric seats as standard and also adds Porsche ‘drive-block’ alarm immobiliser not specified for UK cars. Spec list is as follows: 058,224,249,432,437,438,445,520,567,602,659
Full service history in Hong Kong until brought to UK in 2006 by second owner, who was a senior executive with BA, relocating to Heathrow. KM speedo replaced at circa 44000km with new MPH unit. This now shows 37000miles. Then full service history in London by Charles Ivey, all invoices/Mots retained until car purchased by current owner in 2013.
The car was in excellent and original condition, but the current owner set about attending to small items to bring the car up to his very high standards. Clayton Classics replaced the windscreen, checked the corners for corrosion (common on 993s) and found none. The door A post retainers were also strengthened (properly by removing the front wings). Clayton also overhauled the A/C and heating system. The front seats were re-trimmed by Southbound (Porsche specialist trim) because of some cracking due to sun damage.
Further work by Autofarm listed below.
The intention was to prepare the car to top specification for long continental trips and holidays, without regard to cost. A change in personal circumstances means that the car is sadly for sale.
It must be one of the best 993s on the market
Split-rim ‘Targa’ wheels are excellent, tyres are virtually new. Paint is first class. No advisories on last two Mots and less than 1000 miles since last one
Mileage: 65,000Price: £59,950

- Purchased in excellent condition, there was a small unidentified ‘tap’ from the engine
- There then followed a total engine rebuild at Autofarm and a gearbox overhaul with absolutely no expense spared. They also identified a few small suspension issues, corrected these, and carried out a full geometry set.
- Autofarm also checked over the Targa roof and blind, replacing a few small parts, checked over the ‘Drive-block’ system and obtained new handsets.
- Bills approaching £30k for this work… The car now drives and handles and presents superbly.
